FAQ

How do I come up with a good startup name?

Brainstorm coined, abstract words rather than a literal description of your v1, since startups pivot and a tied-down name boxes you in. Run a fast spell-back test: say it aloud and have someone type it cold. If they fumble the spelling, it costs you for years in support tickets and lost word-of-mouth.

Is a .com necessary for a startup, or are .io and .ai fine?

A .com is not required, and .io and .ai are well accepted in tech circles, so pick what is clean and available. Two honest tradeoffs: .ai and .io often renew at a higher yearly price than .com, and a non-.com can leak traffic to whoever owns the matching .com. Grab that .com early if it is cheap, or accept the leak.

How do I make sure a startup name is not already taken or trademarked?

An open domain is not legal clearance. Run a free USPTO knockout search for conflicting marks in your class, check the matching handle on X, LinkedIn, and your app store, and Google the bare word for crowded results. We show live domain availability with one-click registration, but we do not verify trademarks.
